Let’s get this out of the way first: National Zero’s Twitter account is shit compared to that of real news outlets. We rarely use it to tweet out our stories and it serves no real purpose other than simply serving as a newsfeed to find stuff to report. Its old name was simply “SpartanWarrior” (which is why it says “Joined August 2014”, long before National Zero was founded). This is something on the long list of things that need to be corrected about our social media presence.
During the typical day-to-day, we will tweet or retweet items of note simply to pin them for use in later material – which is why if you follow National Zero on Twitter you’ll often see tweets we politically would never agree with, and to our followers/readers’ credit, none of you have ever replied to this with something to the effect of “Why the fuck would you retweet Lauren Boebert?” because you know us. You know we’re not propagating the dumb shit or other Republicans tweet.
Well you know that. Other people don’t.

On Tuesday we retweeted this to hang on to as a throwaway gag “article” with a headline mocking this guy as a moron for using the possessive apostrophe when he clearly meant “RINOs” as plural, a grammatical error sometimes referred to as the “grocer’s apostrophe“, and often appearing in right wing rants. Corny here evidently took our retweet to mean interest in his campaign rather than the admittedly otherwise inscrutable intent to mock him, but had he taken 45 or so seconds to check out our website – linked in our profile – he would’ve pretty quickly figured out our news coverage is not exactly friendly to MAGA candidates such as himself.
Thus Corny becomes National Zero’s second-ever Blue Check follower. The title of first belongs to LGBTQ-centric news blogger, former Hill commenter, and all around awesome dude JoeMyGod. We still have more blocks by Blue Checks than followers: shitty right wing-biased pollster Rasmussen Reports, complete piece of shit Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (later undone as a settlement in a federal lawsuit), and Arizona Republican Party Chairwoman “Chemtrails” Kelli Ward.
National Zero’s most famous social media follower is not on Twitter however. That distinction belongs to internet porn tycoon and owner of 8chan Jim Watkins, father of “Real QAnon” Jim Watkins on the QPatriot.org social network. That was more or less the same story as Corny.
