Democratic New York Senator Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a distant cousin of comedian Amy Schumer, has tested positive for the coronavirus and reportedly has mild symptoms, CNN reports.
As the Senate returns from its Fourth of July recess, Schumer will work from home until he tests negative for the virus. Schumer’s office reports that the Senator is vaxxed and boosted.
“Anyone who knows Leader Schumer knows that even if he’s not physically in the Capitol, through virtual meetings and his trademark flip phone he will continue with his robust schedule and remain in near constant contact with his colleagues,” spokesman Justin Goodman said in a statement.
