Icelandic volcano erupts 40 miles outside capital

In a land with 130 documented volcanoes and located in an area known as the Ring of Fire, Iceland has periodic eruptions that can lead to some spectacular sites. According to Reuters, a fissure opened up about 40 miles southwest of Reykjavik, causing disruption to air traffic.
