A 12-year-old girl in Weatherford, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth, shot her father in the stomach as he sat in their home and then shot herself in the head into the street as part of a murder pact with a friend in another Texas, who did not act on the promise, NBC News reports.
The condition of the girl and her father are unknown. She reportedly made a pact with a friend of the same age in Lufkin, Texas, 230 miles away, to murder their family members and pets, and the two planned to run away together. It’s unknown if the other girls dropped out of the plan, which caused the girl in Weatherford to attempt suicide.
The girl in Lufkin, whose name is also not being released, is being charged with conspiracy to commit murder. The source of the gun the girl in Weatherford used in the shooting was not released, but it’s Texas and she could probably buy one at the American Girl store at the mall.
