Turns out Colorado Republican governor candidate Heidi Ganahl was actually right about schools buying kitty litter for kids to use instead of toilets, as NBC News found a Denver-area district has in fact been purchasing the trays and litter. We media libs were wrong, she was right.
One not very minor detail though: The schools are in the Jefferson County School District, which contains Columbine High School, the site of a horrific massacre in 1999. The district has been buying kitty litter since 2017 as a contingency in case students are locked down in their classrooms for an extended period of time during a shooting to use whether or not they “identify as cats.”
