California officials announced the arrest of a man suspected in five killings this year and who may be connected to at least two killings last year, saying the suspect was “out hunting” when police apprehended him, CNN reports.
Forty-three year old Wesley Brownlee was dressed in dark clothing and skulking around a park in Stockton, California when a police surveillance team watching him determined he was “out hunting” and “on a mission to kill,” Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden said in a news conference, so they decided to arrest him. Police found a gun on Brownlee; all the victims of the suspected serial killer were shot.
Brownlee is suspected of the killings of five men, four Hispanic and one white, all between 21 to 54 years old that happened in Stockton between July 8th and September 27th. Police also believe the killer could be connected to two shootings in April 2021.
