Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is considering reopening a criminal investigation against disgraced former President Trump over his illegal campaign hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in the weeks before the 2016 election, the New York Times reports.
The conservative former president, beloved by Evangelical Christians for his supposed defense of traditional family values, paid $130,000 to Daniels in October 2016 to keep her quiet over 45 seconds of sexual intercourse with Donald that occurred in 2006, a year or two after his third marriage to Melania and the birth of their son Barron. In 2018 former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to multiple federal felonies, including making the payment “in coordination with and at the direction of a candidate for federal office,” aka “Individual 1.” The scandal got buried under all the other dumb criminal shit Trump did before and since, but few of the facts are in dispute.
