Much has been made of how stupid and weak disgraced former President Trump was made to look this week after seven failed attempts to secure the Speakership for Kevin McCarthy (to say nothing of McCarthy himself, lol). Just read some of the comments from this Wednesday Breitbart thread on Donald’s re-endorsement. “I don’t care what Trump thinks anymore,” and “The day in which Donald Trump alienates enough of his base to guarantee a loss in 2024. Read the room dude,” and so on.
But Trump’s taken heat from his fanboys before. Even after pushing the “lethal” COVID vaccine he’s still a living God to an intractable plurality of the Republican base. He’s not going away.
Neither is Marjorie Taylor Greene, being in a safe red district. But goddamn her MAGA street cred has really taken a beating in the mess, maybe even a permanent one over her backing McCarthy so vehemently. Even fellow white nationalist Steve Bannon is indirectly (for now at least) telling her to back the fuck off, never mind the other pushback she’s gotten from all across the MAGAverse.
Thank you President Trump, for continuing to be the leader of the Republican party and helping our conference unite.

It’s no mystery why the QAdulteress is fighting so hard for McCarthy, even if we can only guess the exact specifics: He promised her virtually unlimited power, a prime committee spot, to groom her for leadership, and/or whatever else that she would not get with anyone else in charge. No doubt she personally thinks McCarthy is just as weak and worthless of a “RINO” as her fellow Freedom Caucasians do, but she doesn’t care as long as it means power, MAGA authenticity be damned.
Now maybe you’d think fanboys who traffic in “Trust the plan” and “5D chess” type bullshit tropes would understand and appreciate such a play by one of their heroes. It’s quite sophisticated by their standards. And that’s the true answer to the rhetorical question posed in the headline. Marjorie Taylor Greene looks like a fucking idiot for making a bad bet and then doubling down, but it’s really MAGAmerica here who looks dumber for missing her puddle-deep plot to increase her power.
