Justice Department special prosecutor Jack Smith last month subpoenaed the Trump campaign seeking information on a wide range of topics related to the failed coup attempt and January 6th, 2021 Ellipse rally following Donald’s defeat to Joe Biden, the Washington Post reports.
One question that drew the Post’s attention was a request that all individual recipients named in the subpoena specify if anyone else is paying for their legal representation and to provide a copy of the agreement – a sign Smith is ready for the kind of fuckery House January 6th Select Committee star witness Cassidy Hutchinson experienced while she was testifying.
Another point that sticks out is that the subpoena specifically mentions communications mentioning Dominion and Smartmatic, indicating that Smith is looking for information on how much Trump and his minions actually believed the shit they were saying about the two voting technology companies or if – as is likely – the “questions” over them were just a convenient pretext for the coup attempt.
