Donald Trump has retained former federal prosecutor Todd Blanche to represent him in the Manhattan criminal prosecution stemming from his illegal machinations to conceal a hush money payment to a porn actress with whom he had a momentary sexual encounter.
According to Politico, Blanche had to resign from the prestigious DC-based firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft to take Trump as a client, perhaps because of Trump’s well-known habit of not paying contractors. That did not deter Blanche, however, who commented, “I have been asked to represent Trump in the recently charged DA case, and after much thought/consideration, I have decided it is the best thing for me to do and an opportunity I should not pass up.”
Blanche joins the team led by Susan Necheles and Joe Tacopina in the case, while a melange of other attorneys are handling Trump’s various other legal engagements, from the Fulton County election rigging investigation to the federal special counsel investigation into Trump’s alleged direction of a failed insurrection.
