South Florida federal Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart on Monday issued a protective order against the public disclosure of any discovery materials, including the non-classified information, provided to fat former President Trump’s defense team in the 37-count case against him for stealing top secret files from the White House following his humiliating defeat to Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

“All non-classified discovery produced by the United States to the Defendants in preparation for, or in connection with, any stage of this case (collectively, ‘the Discovery Materials’) are subject to this protective order (‘the Order’) and may be used by the Defendants and Defense Counsel (defined as counsel of record in this case) solely in connection with the defense of this case, and for no other purpose, and in connection with no other proceeding, without further order of this Court,” ruled Reinhart, who also stipulated that the Orange Defendant may only review it “under the direct supervision of defense counsel,” and he “shall not retain copies of Discovery Material.”

Reinhart issued the order in response to a motion from Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith’s team but, unlike with a similarly successful move by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office, it does not appear Trump’s team had tried to oppose it. Maybe they decided just to leave it alone this time after their squeals of “an unprecedented and extraordinarily broad muzzle on a leading contender for the presidency” were laughed out of court in New York. Or they’re just disorganized as shit seeing as how two of them fucked off literally the day after Trump was indicted and are reportedly still looking for more lawyers to work the case. Who knows?
