Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday marked 500 days of Russia’s invasion of his country by releasing a video of himself visiting Snake Island, aka “Go Fuck Yourself” Island, the rock in the Black Sea on which Kyiv’s soldiers defiantly told the crew of a Russian warship exactly that when ordered to surrender during the early stages of the attack, the AP reports.
“I want to thank – from here, from this place of victory – each of our soldiers for these 500 days. Thank you to everyone who fights for Ukraine!” said Zelensky in the video. It’s not clear when he filmed it, but Zelensky was in Turkey on Saturday for meetings with President Erdawg.
