A Republican former Georgia state senator who heard a presentation by Trump lawyer and hair dye dispenser Rudy Giuliani about the imperative to impanel a set of fake electors to support Donald Trump’s candidacy in the Electoral College has been subpoenaed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, CNN reports.
As a member of the Georgia Senate Judiciary subcommittee, Jen Jordan sat through a presentation by Guiliani and associates in which the Trump representatives presented their flimsy evidence of voter fraud and ballot forgery, including previously debunked claims that workers in Fulton County pulled out and tallied bins full of fake ballots to throw the election to Joe Biden. The subpoena specifies Jordan will be called to testify before the grand jury in the month of August.
Along with another one for an independent journalist who walked into the organizing meeting for the fake electors at the capitol where Republicans lied about the meeting in a sign that they knew its illegality, the subpoena for Jordan demonstrates Willis’s investigation is going far beyond the direct efforts of Donald Trump to pressure elected officials to change the vote count.
