One of ten bottles of Macallan Adami 1926, a scotch whisky bottled in 1986 after being aged in sherry casks for six decades, was sold by Sotheby’s in London for a record £2.2 million, or $2.7 million, the highest ever spent for a single bottle of a spirit or wine, ABC News reports. Macallan produced just forty bottles of the 1926 scotch whisky, with ten of them–including the one auctioned–getting individual labels designed by Italian painter Valerio Adami.
