An investigation into the July 2021 assassination of Haiti President Jovenel Moïse ended with Moïse’s widow Martine Moïse being indicted along with a former Prime Minister and the ex-leader of the country’s national police, CBS News reports.
The judicial investigation charges Martine Moïse and former Prime Minister Claude Joseph with complicity and criminal association, their version of RICO. Léon Charles, the one-time chief of the Haiti’s national police faces charges of murder; attempted murder; possession and illegal carrying of weapons; conspiracy against the internal security of the state; and criminal association.
