Jesus Dork House Speaker Mike Johnson and several MAGA Congressmen were involved with efforts to pressure the US Army to allow convicted felon former President Trump to film a campaign event at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, one of the family members tells the Daily Caller.
Being the right wing site that they are, the Caller’s article works hard to emphasize that it was the families who requested that Trump be able to attend – and not the other way around. What still isn’t clear about all this however – besides the fact that Trump was not at Arlington National Cemetery on August 26 in 2022 or 2023 – is whether this is like an established annual memorial ceremony for the 13 fallen US service members killed in the bombing, or if it’s now a “tradition” this year because of you-know-what in November. It’s going to look considerably worse than it already does with one of them shoving an employee to the ground if it’s the former and this was election year-only.
“We, WE extended the invitation to President Trump. We are the ones that asked him to come.” Darin Hoover, father of Staff Sgt Taylor Hoover, told the Daily Caller in what they describe as an “emotional” phone call, adding “We are the ones that asked him to assist in laying a wreath for our son, and for the shooting for, Sgt Canals and for Cole. We’re the ones that asked that. President Trump didn’t come to us. His team didn’t come to us and say, hey, this would be good for business. Business? No. President Trump stood by us from day one. He has been compassionate. He has been loving. He’s been understanding. He’s taking the mantle of our outrage a little bit. Because to be quite honest with you, being very frank, we haven’t heard diddly squat from the current administration in three years.” There’s a certain familiar ring to the words this man is using.
And the denials seem AWFULLY specific, just like the one Trump posted late on Tuesday.
