A number of FBI search warrant actions in New York City on Thursday as WABC reports agents raided the homes of two of Mayor Eric Adams’s deputies: the Hamilton Heights, Manhattan abode of First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright, who is engaged to Schools Chancellor David Banks (not clear if they’re cohabitating and if Banks was the target), and the Hollis, Queens, home of Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Phil Banks, were searched as part of an ongoing investigation, sources said, adding that the whatever the matter is, it does not appear to be connected to the Turkish donation laundering scheme that Adams and his political staffers have been implicated in.
Separately a Twitter account called NYScanner reports that FBI agents has reportedly confiscated the cell phone of NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban and two other high ranking officers. No word if those seizures are connected to the deputy mayors getting raided, but Los Federales tend to do take action in a coordinated fashion, executing warrants simultaneously to catch targets off guard.
Feels kind of like the beginning of a good Batman movie. The plot lines about grimy urban corruption and what not are always solid. Fucking Christopher Nolan should’ve stuck more with that instead of his over-the-top secret energy weapon and sonar cellphone whatever the hell it was. Oh shit, the Penguin series with Colin Farrell is coming to HBO soon. Please God let that one be good. The Batman was awesome even if the ending sort of sucked. Joker: Folie à Deux should be solid too.
In conclusion, we hope federal law enforcement gets to the bottom of this matter swiftly.
