Due this afternoon, Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith’s team’s 180 page filing outlining the evidence against convicted felon former President Trump in the long-stalled DC post-2020 election coup conspiracy case will, because we can’t have nice things, be under seal and out of the public view for as long as Judge Tanya Chutkan deems necessary due to rules surrounding grand jury secrecy, Politico reports on yet another disappointment for anti-MAGAs.
One would hope that, given the amount of time this has all taken, and Smith’s team already knew at least about a week ago, exactly how long the filing is, the prosecutors have already marked which testimony, exhibits, etc, might fall under the secrecy rules and already have them marked, so that it’s just a matter of flipping through the pages to decide which ones to enter into the public docket.
