Muslim community leaders who backed convicted felon President-Elect Trump to punish Vice President Kamala Harris over the Biden Admin’s support for the war in Gaza tell Reuters they’re “deeply disappointed” with his cabinet picks, as if they expected him to nominate other Muslims.
“Trump won because of us and we’re not happy with his secretary of state pick and others,” said Philadelphia investor Rabiul Chowdhury, who chaired the Abandon Harris campaign in Pennsylvania and co-founded Muslims for Trump. “It’s like he’s going on Zionist overdrive,” said Minnesota leader Hassan Abdel Salam, co-founder of the Abandon Harris campaign, which endorsed Green Party candidate Jill Stein. “We were always extremely skeptical … Obviously we’re still waiting to see where the administration will go, but it does look like our community has been played.”
“We are very disappointed,” said Rexhinaldo Nazarko, executive director of the American Muslim Engagement and Empowerment Network, though it’s not clear from the article whether Nazarko himself is/was pro-Trump or is just providing comment on the community. “It seems like this administration has been packed entirely with neocons and extremely pro-Israel, pro-war people, which is a failure on the on the side of President Trump, to the pro-peace and anti-war movement.”
Huh. Almost like anyone thinking rationally could have seen this coming or something.
