A Texas judge on Tuesday tossed The Onion’s bid to buy up what remains of Infowars, ruling that there wasn’t enough transparency in the process when bankruptcy creditors from the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre forwent a portion of the value of the domain and the remaining production equipment to the satirical news site in order to rig it in the Onion’s favor, NPR reports.
“These families, who have already persevered through countless delays and roadblocks, remain resilient and determined as ever to hold Alex Jones and his corrupt businesses accountable for the harm he has caused,” the plaintiffs’ lawyer Chris Mattei said.
