Convicted felon President-Elect Trump on Thursday told NBC News that the debt ceiling should be abolished permanently now that he’s returning to office and has to deal with it.
“The Democrats have said they want to get rid of it. If they want to get rid of it, I would lead the charge,” Trump told some reporter with NBC in a phone conversation, adding that he had spoken with Elon Musk before issuing his public statements on Wednesday. “I told [Ketamine Brain] that if he agrees with me, that he could put out a statement,” Trump said. “He’s looking at things from a cost standpoint,” Trump continued, adding their views as in line, and “very much on track.”
“REPUBLICANS SHOULD NOT MAKE A DEAL ON THE DEBT CEILING UNLESS THEY GET EVERYTHING THEY WANT (Including the ‘kitchen sink’). THAT’S THE WAY THE DEMOCRATS HAVE ALWAYS DEALT WITH US. DO NOT FOLD!!!” Trump posted from the sidelines on May 19, 2023, back when it was advantageous for his party to hold the global economy hostage to their whims.
