Members of Chicago’s Lincoln United Methodist Church who prefer to attend services in Spanish will have to do so via Zoom for the foreseeable future as the congregation’s leadership have decided to take convicted felon President-Elect Trump’s incoming regime seriously on their stated goal of raiding religious services to detain undocumented immigrants, the Chicago Tribune reports.
“My family and I are tired of this,” said parishioner Francesca Lino, a US citizen a mom to six, weary of another four years of MAGA bullshit – only worse this time. Pastor Emma Lozano made the call to go online-only en Español as she girds her flock for the coming tribulations, getting ahead of it after being targeted by right wing harassment and vandalism repeatedly over the last decade. “We must take their threats seriously and prepare for the worst,” Lozano told the Tribune.
