Tuesday’s batshittery about the US taking over Gaza was apparently the last straw for Dearborn, Michigan conservative activist Bishara Bahbah, chairman of Arab Americans for Trump, who tells the Associated Press the group is now officially called “Arab Americans for Peace.”
“The talk about what the president wants to do with Gaza, obviously we’re completely opposed to the idea of the transfer of Palestinians from anywhere in Historic Palestine, and so we did not want to be behind the curve in terms of pushing for peace, because that has been our objective from the very beginning,” Bahbah continued, still trying to save face after having his pissed on.
In related news, the AP also reports on Thursday that the Israel government has “begun preparations for the departure of large numbers of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in line with President Donald Trump’s plan for the territory. Officials meanwhile said Egypt has launched an diplomatic blitz behind the scenes to try and head off the plan.” That’s verbatim. They are actually trying to make this happen irrespective of the seriousness of Trump’s assertions of US involvement.
