A Norwegian Cruise Lines vessel didn’t tell more than 600 passengers they were on their own during an excursion stop in Hilo, on Hawaii’s Big Island on Tuesday, the vessel just kind of left, stranding them while a potentially apocalyptic wave generated by an earthquake off the coast of Russia had spurred a tsunami watch, KHON reports on some panicky bitches on the ship line.
Eric Anderson says he was out on an excursion with his dad when he got a text that the boat was leaving at 4 PM due to the tsunami watch. They quickly jumped on their bus back to the port, only to see the fucking thing steaming out to sea. Locals found out and brought all the stranded passengers to a high school gym that was being used as an evacuation shelter. The boat eventually returned after an all-clear and all 600 or so re-embarked the next day to continue the cruise.
