Louisiana judiciary panel recommends Stolen Valor judge removed

The quite possibly extremely significant sleeper saga of Louisiana Judge Tiffany Foxworth-Roberts and her Stolen Valor reckoning continued this month. Actually it was nine days ago but given that National Zero didn’t see it until Tuesday and then some other stuff happened delaying the properly thorough treatment of this update from WAFB: The Louisiana Judiciary Commission on September 4th recommended to the state Supreme Court that Foxworth-Roberts be removed from the bench for lying about her military record during her 2020 campaign. Foxworth-Roberts had sent out mailers saying shit like that served in Iraq during the first Gulf War while she was still in high school, had retired as a captain when she had never risen above lieutenant, and so on. In a May hearing the judge admitted to the commission she had indeed stole valor during her campaign and apologized.

There was some ambiguity going into the wait for the commission’s recommendation since Foxworth-Roberts was also accused of – though not criminally indicted for – having engaged in some insurance scam over a $19,000 ring she claimed had been stolen out of her car during a campaign stop. The accusation isn’t worth getting into the weeds on and the judge defended herself on it. The expectation in the previous stories on Foxworth-Roberts was that even though the Stolen Valor was the more attention-grabbing side of the investigation into her, that it was just really icing on the cake of more conventional misconduct in her statements to cops after the break-in.

Well holy freaking shit that was wrong. That, per the Advocate, the commission led with “Foxworth-Roberts has gone beyond mere misrepresentations that misled the public: she created a campaign sign falsely stating she was a US Army Captain, she paid for multiple campaign ads that repeated this lie (which also led to endorsements that repeated this lie),” and then some inconsistency in her story about the car break-in seems to indicate that the Stolen Valor is in fact the cake. Legally.

If only these wieners knew that the corrupt Black female Democrat (a very DINO-ish one too) judge they fapped to being in trouble for lying about her military service on the campaign trail could mean if the state Supreme Court follows through here – and that Foxworth-Roberts doesn’t resign first.

She’s the sixth elected jurist in Louisiana in the 21st century to have been recommended for removal from the bench for misconduct or crimes. Of those three called it quits before the state Supreme Court rendered a decision, one was actually removed, and another was suspended for a year without pay. One possible indicator that Foxworth-Roberts intends to stay on to the bitter end is that she’s still working cases. At least one pretty high-profile one too, as a Tuesday WAFB story mentions her overseeing former LSU football captain Greg Brooks Jr as the plaintiff in a medical malpractice claim against the school and a hospital over a botched brain surgery that tragically left him permanently disabled, with the next hearing in November. Then there’s that Foxworth-Robert’s page on the judiciary district’s website apparently says her courtroom’s still open to take on new ones. There’s also no material difference between her and her colleagues Judges Tarvald A Smith and William Jorden that might have provided hints that she’s at least trying to wind things down.

Maybe it’s the paycheck, maybe she wants to fight this on the law, maybe she wants to “put the system on trial” after admitting she had indeed lied. Whatever Foxworth-Roberts’s reasons are for not resigning, it is EXTREMELY important that she stays long enough to face the state Supreme Court so they render a decision – and that decision be a punitive one. Removal better than suspension, suspension better than nothing, nothing better than her quitting and mooting the case.

Because if the state Supreme Court hears the recommendation and decides not to punish her then at least we’ll know whether the real potential of all of this can metastasize outside of the very narrow setting of the Louisiana judiciary – and a new, untested Arizona criminal statute – into the dream that yours truly has become obsessed with. The significance of Judge Tiffany Foxworth-Roberts being removed for lying about her military service on the campaign trail and then subsequent appellate decisions holding that up would be a game-changing precedent.

It will – with an extremely high degree of certainty – be the first time in American history that any duly elected official has been removed from their post for lying to voters on the campaign trail.

The significance of that cannot be overstated. Those twatwaffles at Breitbart had no fucking clue they were celebrating what could be the pebble that rolls into the snowball that grows into the avalanche that could – with a bit of luck and a great deal of hard work – eventually annihilate the entire conservative political project they grift from so handsomely. If it holds up that an elected judge can be punished for lying about her military service on the campaign trail then in theory any provable falsehood that could conceivably influence the outcome of an election is subject to civil/criminal liability under statutes that could someday be written and signed into law.

So for real, pray to your deities, keep your fingers crossed, do whatever you have to do to direct cosmic energy at Judge Tiffany Foxworth-Roberts of the 19th Judicial District in Louisiana stay in office until the state Supreme Court (hopefully) fires her lying ass for stealing valor.
