After previously claiming that there’s no money to pay for SNAP benefits amid the still-ongoing government shutdown and then later realizing that’s not a good idea politically so they needed an off-ramp, convicted felon President Trump’s regime on Monday informed a Rhode Island federal judge that about $5.2 billion in reserve will be disbursed to the states to partially cover what’s usually a $9 billion monthly bill for the program, CBS reports. States will have to cover the rest.
