The comedy value of the bears vs humans in Japan storyline continued to wane into “Okay seriously what the actual fuck is going on over there?” further on Sunday as a bear was tranquilized and then killed by responders via electrocution (no idea how or why that was the preferred method) after the animal wandered into a mall in Akita Prefecture, the Mainichi reports on the latest incident.
“A staff member made an emergency call to police around 11:20 am to report the entry into the mall of the bear, which was found near the first-floor furniture section. It was tranquilized by a blow dart before being killed by electric shock more than two hours later,” the national daily paper writes in the English version of their website of the encounter at the Aeon Noshiro mall in the town of Noshiro.
