Minnesota woman Donna Ganger tells the Star-Tribune her daughter, 37 year-old Renee Nicole Good, was the driver of the Honda Pilot fatally shot in the face three or four times by an ICE agent in Minneapolis on Wednesday. “Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being,” Ganger said, adding that her daughter was not known to her to have been involved in any activist groups or was even particularly political.
Good leaves behind a son of about four or five years old, now orphaned as the boy’s father, Tim Macklin Jr, died in 2023 at the age of 36. “There’s nobody else in his life,” Tim Macklin Sr told the Star-Tribune after being informed. “I’ll drive. I’ll fly. To come and get my grandchild.”
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson told reporters that Good’s death was the result of people getting radicalized against law enforcement and then about 10 seconds later said nobody should jump to conclusions about who was really at fault for the incident that left a young boy orphaned.
Footage from the aftermath of the shooting shows ICE agents drawing their guns at a doctor who happened to be at the scene and attempting to see if he could do anything to save Good, screaming “Back the fuck up!” But you know, Kamala Harris didn’t go on Joe Rogan’s podcast so here we are.
