Possibly hoping to tide over players disappointed with having to wait at least another 11 months for the twice-delayed Grand Theft Auto VI, publisher Rockstar Games last month released an update to the now-nearly 13 year-old Grand Theft Auto V with a cool new custom mission creator mode that allows them to dream up their own violent mayhem scenarios and share them with other fans.
Yet, according to Kotaku, for a game franchise that for decades has been famous not only allowing but pretty much outright encouraging players to massacre innocent, unarmed civilians and responding cops, the publisher’s moderation team were curiously discomfited by one creator’s reenactment of one recent incident of violent mayhem and promptly removed it from the listings.
Probably because they were afraid of offending the kind of people who last week posted joke Craigslist ads about a used Honda Pilot with some bullet holes in the windshield for sale.
