Charging ahead even though a state judge blocked the redistricting, Virginia Dems and Gov Abigail Spanberger are operating under the assumption that the state Supreme Court will rule in their favor, with a spokesperson for the governor saying “State elections administrators have told the Governor that the General Assembly’s map can be implemented before voting begins. The Governor’s priority has been upholding the integrity of Virginia’s elections, and her team has been working throughout this process to make sure any proposed map could actually be implemented on the quick timeline before elections administrators,” ahead of an anticipated April 21 date for the referendum.
