Let’s just get the political part out of the way first: There is no political part. Of course being the Villages all suspects are presumed MAGA until proven innocent, but this David Allen O’Brien character is just a slippery bastard with no discernible online footprint and this blogger was extremely thorough in attempting to find something, anything that would confirm his and his readership’s priors. The usually reliable go-to of VoterRecords.com was a dead end and trying to find a Dave or David O’Brien on Facebook is like trying to find a crypto scam on Twitter.
Actually that’s not fair because if you were for some reason looking for a specific crypto scam on Twitter you would have an easier time than you would looking for a specific Dave O’Brien on Facebook. Seriously try to use it to track down someone, anyone, with even a medium-generic name like that for just a few minutes and there’s no other conclusion than that Schmuckerberg and co deliberately designed it to frustrate the fuck out of users seeking any kind of informational value whatsoever out of it. The search box even ignores quotation marks around a specific string…
So yes, it is a goddamned shame that documentary evidence of the 67 year-old O’Brien’s MAGA status remains elusive because hooooo-leeeee shit this very well could be the MAGAest/Villages-est story ever: According to a Sumter County Sheriff’s Office arrest report obtained by Villages-News.com, the sad, lonely senior citizen recently joined Tinder in search of a significantly younger woman willing to physically debase herself in exchange for $1,000 “each visit,” plus gifts and dinner.
O’Brien promptly made contact with a woman whose name – and even age – went undisclosed in the reporting and they hit it off enough to meet up on Tuesday. At some point thereafter man handed her $200 to make purchases at a lingerie store they visited together plus another $600 during dinner. The woman then accompanied O’Brien back to his home in the Village of La Crescenta where, according to cops, she became uncomfortable and texted friends to come and pick her up.
Just gonna skip the tedious, predictable sarcasm and instead remark that yes, it is totally understandable that she would feel uncomfortable, even accounting for the fact that she had agreed to meet with O’Brien but lost her nerve when it came time to seal the deal to collect the rest of her invoice. Even before what happened to her next, which further justified her discomfort.
The woman exited the home and jumped into a friend’s car with O’Brien hot on their tail… Very hot on their tail as he caught up in his Ford F-150 and rammed the smaller vehicle, sending it crashing into a pole in the traffic circle at the intersection of Buena Vista Boulevard and El Camino Real. He then whipped around, rammed the car again, and then approached on foot with a .22 in hand.
The occupants dispersed but O’Brien cornered a male friend of his Tinder date, ordering him to the ground with the semi pointed at the friend’s head. O’Brien briefly became distracted allowing the young man to escape on foot and hide nearby while the lonely old Villager searched for them. The sound of approaching police sirens then prompted O’Brien to return to his truck and await their arrival. How long it took for the deputies to conduct their initial investigation and arrest O’Brien is unclear as the Villages-News.com article kind of tails off from there rather abruptly.
The site’s also a little squirrely on the timeline given that the sheriff’s records show he wasn’t booked until 6:27 AM on Wednesday, making it clear it was a long night for the arrestee… And maybe for his Tinder date too, as it’s possible the “arrangement” was at least partially consummated and she was just skipping out on what she had decided was $600 worth of a “date” and he can kept the rest of the balance rather than her simply skipping out on him with no services rendered.
In any case these are serious felonies and maybe it would’ve been smarter to let the $600 go instead of being locked up with all the other freaks and scumbags of the Villages.
