A process server interrupted a Texas state House committee heraing on Wednesday to stick member Jeff Leach with a defamation lawsuit for calling the TEXIT group traitors and seditionists.

“‘With his words, Jeff Leach has accused the over 60% of Texans who support TEXIT of being guilty of the crime of treason’, said Texas Nationalist Movement president Daniel Miller. ‘In a time when the discussion of TEXIT is gaining momentum, it’s essential to protect the rights of individuals who choose to support and advocate for Texas independence. The baseless accusations made by State Representative Jeff Leach against our fellow Texan are not only incorrect but an attack on the very freedom of speech that we hold dear. The Texas Nationalist Movement is proud to provide legal support to the plaintiff in this fight for justice and to uphold the principles of self-government, free speech, and the pursuit of self-determination for the people of Texas.”

“We will no longer tolerate accusations of criminality as a means to stifle debate. Texans who advocate for our rights under Article 1 Section 2 of the Texas Constitution should not be subjected to accusations of criminal wrongdoing that carry penalties up to and including death. It’s time to put an end to these baseless claims and focus on the real issues at hand.’ Paul M.
