Presumed Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden today released an economic stimulus package plan to inject more than $700 billion through US-made goods and investment in American technology research, according to CNBC.
The plan tightens US regulatory laws that encourage federal government contracting and procurement from US companies, and it will encourage government investment to develop technology through US-based companies.
The first of a three-part program being rolled out by the Biden campaign, it strikes at what Trump considers one of his strengths, the economy, while capitalizing on Biden’s strong union ties and the record of growth while he was Vice President.
Biden will also discuss the two other legs of the program in coming weeks: addressing climate change and helping develop better child- and eldercare programs in the US.
