Newly-former Team Orange aide blows whistle on “grift and greed”

A Trump campaign aide was fired this month after trying to blow the whistle on what she called “grift and greed” by the convicted felon former president’s top minions – and a “bugging” plot, according to an email obtained by the Daily Beast memorializing the shitshow she experienced.

“The grift and greed I‘ve witnessed makes me sick and I think leadership has been bad stewards of generous donors money,” the former staffer wrote in an email to an ex-coworker colleague after she was abruptly canned on October 18th. “I‘m 100 percent on Team Trump – I want the very best for this campaign, but what I’ve witnessed is greedy and wrong,” show wrote, adding that she’d become convinced that top co-managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita had installed “a listening device in a cut out hole” in a conference room at the West Palm Beach headquarters of the campaign.

The woman, whose name the Beast is withholding, wrote that campaign CFO Sean Dollman “has alluded to the fact that he can’t say things for fear of retaliation… There are napkins stuffed in all the gaps in the conference room now. It seems like they’re willing to go to extremes.”

Although she was technically an employee of Dollman’s firm, Launchpad Strategies, she was responsible for all the ad placements on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, putting her in a position to witness all the unspecified “grift and greed” that LaCivita has reportedly been cashing in on.

Per the Beast, the now-former aide became concerned when she noticed that, rather than using Launchpad for the ad buys, Wiles and LaCivita were farming them out to two other firms, Strategic Media Services in Arlington, Virginia and Zeta Global in New York (Zeta also owns Disqus), finding that the two were charging the campaign 32 percent more for the same services… And that Zeta CEO David Steinberg is a top donor to Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign. It’s not clear what the endgame to all of that would have been, though the article seems to point at some kind of kickback scheme in which the outside vendors are paying off LaCivita and/or Wiles.
