Hungarian dictator Viktor Orban was made to look weak and vulnerable Saturday when an estimated hundreds of thousands turned out for a Budapest Pride march in outright defiance of the Trump-aligned autocrat’s ban on the public pro-LGBTQ demonstration, Bloomberg reports.
The mockery of Orban’s regime comes as pollsters have found waning support for his Reich-y Fidesz party, supposedly down 18 percent to the upstart Tisza party led by Euro Parliament MEP Peter Magyar, a former Orban minion who publicly betrayed Fidesz. “We can expect continued efforts to delegitimize the opposition, attempts to find a grip on Magyar personally and potentially put him on trial. We cannot exclude last-minute changes to the electoral code either,” German think tanker Zsuzsanna Vegh told Bloomberg of what she think’s Orban’s next move is.
