“A House GOP lawmaker is proposing to block federal funds from New York City for as long as Zohran Mamdani is mayor. Forthcoming legislation led by Rep Buddy Carter, R-Ga, is called the Moving American Money Distant from Anti-National Interests Act, or the ‘MAMDANI Act,'” writes Fox News in a free (or donor-funded payola) campaign ad for Carter’s Senate bid against other Georgia MAGA hick Congressman Mike Collins that the propaganda network printed on Thursday.
Fox News was however surprisingly upfront about how this is all horseshit, that even they and their audience are in on the kayfabe, as it’s no later than the eighth sentence that they admit “While Carter’s bill is not likely to be taken up in the House, it’s a symbol of how the GOP has been hyper-focused on Mamdani’s win, with Republican leaders in the House positioning him as the new leader of the Democratic Party.” They take the candor even further in the next, writing “A House Republican campaign operative signaled to Fox News Digital on Wednesday that the GOP would seek to tie vulnerable Democrats across the country to Mamdani and his far-left platforms.”
It’s not clear why Fox is breaking the fourth wall here and letting their fans in on a “little secret” that they previously did not with the GOP’s Nancy Pelosi, AOC, and Ilhan Omar hard-ons. Maybe it’s that it was actually kind of more plausible since those female libs were actually in Congress and thus have influence over national policy that Mamdani doesn’t, so why not paint it as “politically savvy”?
Maybe. Then again this is almost a “limited hangout” to obscure the reality that Carter is just going to look like an impotent nonentity when his Orange Jesus just unilaterally pulls federal funds from New York City anyway with his usual complete disregard for Congress as a coequal branch.
