Slobbery Trump fanboy Troy Nehls announces retirement

“After more than 30 years in law enforcement serving and protecting my community as a police officer, constable, Fort Bend County Sheriff, an Army veteran, and six years representing this district in Congress, I have made the decision, after conversations with my beautiful bride and my girls over the Thanksgiving holiday, to focus on my family and return home after this Congress. Before making this decision, I called President Trump personally to let him know of my plans. President Trump has always been a strong ally for our district and a true friend, and I wanted him to hear it from me first.”

“Serving this country in the military, serving our community in law enforcement, and serving this district in Congress has been the honor of my life. Thank you for your trust, your friendship, and your prayers,” said Texas MAGA Congressman Troy Nehls in a statement on Saturday.

Just for some perspective here: Nehls, who’s in his third term and was reelected last November by a 25 percent margin, just under two years ago was asked why he was supporting the failed impeachment inquiry into now-former President Joe Biden. “All I can say is Donald J Trump 2024, baby!” Nehls responded, making clear what everyone actually knew but didn’t dare say out loud. The next June he was spotted wearing a pair of $400 Trump gold sneakers (or a cheaper fugazi) to work at the Capitol. Nehls did occasionally manage find time for legislation, like co-sponsoring a bill to rename Dulles International Airport the Donald J Trump International Airport that April.

“Today marks the beginning of America’s Golden Age. President Trump is the greatest President of my lifetime. Under President Trump’s leadership, we will secure our nation and end the invasion at our borders. We will lower inflation, unleash American energy dominance, and reassert strength on the world stage,” Nehls said in a statement on January 20, 2025. “I’m honored to represent the 22nd Congressional District of Texas in Congress. I look forward to working with my House Republican colleagues to advance America First policies for President Trump to sign into law,” continued the proclamation issued 10 months and nine days ago by the 57 year-old whose very first vote of his House career was to oppose the Electoral College certification of Biden’s 2020 election victory.

That’s the guy who just announced he was quitting 10 months and 9 days into America’s Golden Age. Couldn’t even be bothered to stick around with the greatest president of his lifetime until 2029.
