Well this sure was something. Asked by a reporter in Ohio on Wednesday whether he agreed with the very, very vehement Ohio GOP objections to Vivek Ramaswamy’s attack ad starring Dem gubernatorial race opponent Dr Amy Acton’s mom Donna Arthur, in which Arthur claimed that Acton lied about the childhood abuse she suffered, Vice President Couchbeard chose door numero dos and instead all but told those Republicans to shut the fuck up and stop complaining.
Note that they weren’t complaining on moral grounds so much as the very real danger that the well-documented reality of Acton’s awful childhood sexual abuse by her stepfather and Ramaswamy’s deliberate choice to try to exploit it as a vulnerability could percolate to lower-info voters and not just doom Da Vek (who likely was doomed even without this EXTREMELY unforced error) but the more nationally consequential Senate seat occupied by toned ass of Jon Husted, not to mention other GOP Buckeyes. Nevertheless, Vance was not having that completely justified pants-pissing.
At all.
“Well, I’ll be honest with you. Whether the ad was appropriate or not is not really my concern. What is my concern is who is gonna govern… Who is gonna win, the Senate race in the State of Ohio… I have to admit I’m a little bit disgusted when I see Republicans across the country who are whining more about that advertisment than they are about what the Democrats want to do to the United States,” Vance said, before claiming Acton is unfit to serve as the governor of his home state.
Then the mask slipped a little bit and underneath the calm, focused sophistry that is Jaydee’s brand came a note of panic about Sherrod Brown wanting to “put men in women’s sports,” as though Brown is campaigning on that it a Trump +11 state. So when you see Vance getting this frustrated, by spewing that kind of nonsense in the middle of his otherwise largely polished rant then you know that this is a big fucking problem and Da Vek should just fall on the sword somehow.
It’s just the highest ranking Ohioan in American government and thus the de facto leader of the state Republican party isn’t going to be the one to do it. Let Jon Husted‘s wife handle it, again.
Not 10 minutes into JD’s Cincinnati rally he was heckled by a protestor who infiltrated the rear.
