Entertainers including The Chicks, Common, Billie Eilish, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Billy Porter, Maggie Rogers, Prince Royce and Stephen Stills will perform during next week’s virtual Democratic Convention, Politico reports.
On Monday, the opening day of the convention, a 57-person choir–one person representing each US state and territory–will perform the National Anthem remotely from each of their home territories.
Per Politico, convention program executive Stephanie Cutter said in a statement that the planned musical acts “will help us tell the story of where we are as a country today under Donald Trump’s failed leadership, and the promise of what we can and should be with Joe Biden as president.”
The artists are also committed to get-out-the-vote drives, registering new voters and mobilizing voters and volunteers during the last 80-days of the campaign.
The republican National Convention has yet to name any entertainment or speakers for its event, schedule to start August 24th.
