Amy Coney Barrett writing that there’s not a sufficient supply of infants for adoptions in the United States is disgusting. There are at least 400,000 children in foster care. There are millions of children available for adoption around the world. For her to claim that older children and foreign children are not worthy of her consideration for adoption is vile.
I swear Barrett has some type of Munchhausen syndrome, in that she thinks parents MUST have attention fawned on them when they have an infant, attention they wouldn’t get if the new family addition was older. She reminds me of my first wife, who wanted the wedding but she didn’t want the marriage.
Barrett’s the type of person who would never buy a used car because the radio may have once had a pre-set to a rock-n-roll station and it is therefore unclean.

Twenty years ago, Republicans were all over the media shouting that the US had to intervene in Iraq because babies were being taken out of incubators. That story was complete bullshit, created by the GW Bush administration to justify the invasion, but they believed it and touted it all over the media. Now, Russia bombs schools, hospitals and civilian apartment buildings in Ukraine, and Repubicans decide that’s not our problem because Russia’s doing it.
Donald Trump potentially returning to Twitter will be the end of him politically. In the 16 months since he was exiled, people have enjoyed the lack of daily existential anxiety that his multiple idiotic, inflammatory tweets caused. Voters will not want to return to that. It seems we’ve been battling a lot of really unsophisticated trolls who rely on tired talking points and really bad manners. If they were even mildly witty, they could’ve stayed longer.
Yes, avocado is a popular toast topping for now, and it’s not bad. But butter will always be the King of Toast Toppings. Other favorites: a good jelly or jam; honey; cream cheese (flavored work, or plain with smoked salmon); hummus with olive tapenade. Only white or wheat toast should be used for a BLT… maybe sourdough. Toast is also a good impromptu pizza crust with tomato sauce and a slice of mozzarella.
