For the third time in four days, Florida has topped 10,000 coronavirus in the state.
Florida has not taken extensive statewide actions to implement preventive measures to stop the spread of the virus. Governor DeSantis had authorized the reopening of some businesses, including declaring professional wrestlers essential workers.
Some counties have since implemented additional measures, including the wearing of masks, to reduce the transmission of the virus. The city of Jacksonville is now requiring anyone over the age of six to wear a mask in public, as well as limit mass gatherings.
President Trump demanded that the Republican National Committee move part of its nominating convention from Charlotte, North Carolina over the state’s requirements on mass gatherings and masks. It chose to hold Trump’s post-nomination address to Jacksonville.
