Families of 9/11 victims plan protest at Trump golf course hosting Saudi Arabian-sponsored golf tournament next weekend

A group of survivors and families of victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack that killed nearly 3,000 Americans will hold demonstrations outside the gates of the Donald Trump-owned golf club in New Jersey hosting the Saudi-sponsored event, Politico reports.

The LIV Golf league has come under massive criticism for its connections to the Saudi royal family, who are linked to the al Qaeda terrorists who perpetrated the attack.  The league will host two events at Trump-owned golf courses:  one this weekend in Bedminster and another at the Trump Doral course in Florida.

It’s not known how much the Saudis will pay Trump for the events, but it is one way the Saudi Royal family can financially reward Trump for repeatedly siding with the Saudis during his single term as president, including completing controversial sales of weapons to them even though they’ve been linked to terrorist groups.

Trump’s camp is reportedly concerned about the optics of the families’ protest given that Trump is toying with the idea of running in the 2024 campaign.  Kowtowing to sponsors of terrorism is not a good look for a presidential candidate.

According to the founder of the group 9/11 Justice, more than 100 family members and survivors of the 9/11 attack will protest at the gates of the club.  They are not just protesting Trump’s involvement, but also the participation of the 48 professional golfers, who joined the league for major paychecks:  degenerate gambler Phil Mickelson reportedly received a guarantee of $200 million to join the first-year league.

Breaking tradition that presidents usually make their first overseas trips to long-standing American allies like the UK or France, Trump traveled to Saudi Arabia where he was gleefully photographed grabbing a glowing orb with Arab leaders.  Plus, the Saudis handed Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, a Trump White House advisor, a $2 billion check for an investment fund even though internal Saudi advisors questioned Kushner’s lack of experience in money management.
