SomeBODY once asked did the band really need cash so bad it had to play without coverin’ your face.
With more than 100 cases of coronavirus in at nine states linked directly to the motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota, including six recently discovered in New Hampshire, a one-time popular band is complaining that they received hate mail after performing at the event in a crowded venue with no social distancing or mask requirements.
Smashmouth posted a photo on its Instagram account of a smashed CD and a letter with the words “kills,” “selfish” and “motherfuckers” visible, according to the New York Post, apparently from a letter the band received.
The band, who had previously made statement on the account saying “We believe Black lives matter… women’s rights are human rights… science is real,” was pilloried by their fans, particularly because lead singer was recorded shouting, “Fuck that COVID shit!” to fans in the crowded venue.
“‘Science is real.’ Epidemiology is a science too,” wrote a respondent.
