President Trump has granted a full pardon to a second RNC speaker. Less than 24 hours after her speech, Alice Johnson had the commutation of sentence changed to a full pardon by Trump in an Oval Office meeting Friday morning, the Washington Post reports.
Johnson had received a life sentence after being convicted for her role in running a Tennessee cocaine distribution ring. Johnson served 22 years of her sentence.
During her pre-recorded segment as part of the republican program, Johnson praised Trump’s prison reform program as well as his policies to reduce sentences for people convicted of nonviolent drug offences, a program advocated by celebrities Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
