One might be tempted to at first question that, since the Kentucky gubernatorial elections are held in odd-numbered years (next one’s in November 2027) that there’d be state legislative “midterms” on Tuesday. That used to be true but hasn’t been since a 1992 constitutional amendment. Maybe the latter part about the New York City and Virginia elections was sarcasm – which would still leave enough Kentuckians expecting to be able to vote 33 years after the state did away with the off-off-off-year elections to merit the Secretary of State tweeting that they’re all fucking idiots.

Multiple bomb threats have prompted the evacuations and closures of at least three polling sites in northern New Jersey on Tuesday morning, all of them in heavily Dem areas making it pretty fucking obvious which side is responsible for trying to dent the others’ turnout, News 12 reports.

Andre Sayegh, mayor of Paterson, the state’s third largest city, said polling sites at School 2 and School 10 were shut down as a precaution after the threats. Meanwhile Avanel Middle School in Middelsex County was shuttered due to “an active law enforcement investigation,” and voters were redirected to Woodbine Avenue Elementary School. Newark officials said they got both phishing emails and threats but the matter is still under investigation and no closures have been effected yet. Same story in Passaic where Mayor Hector Lora said the threats are still being evaluated.
