Not even correctly pointing out to Donald that Loomer had called 9/11 an inside job would sway him. What did finally get Trump to cave however was an aide telling him that Loomer had facial plastic surgery work done.

“What sealed Loomer’s fate, according to two people who were part of these conversations, wasn’t just her racist diatribes but also her appearance: Trump, who is generally appalled by plastic surgery, was disgusted to learn the apparent extent of Loomer’s facial alterations,” Alberta writes.

After that campaign co-chair Susie Wiles sat down with Trump, telling him flat out he was going to lose if he didn’t get his shit together – and cut Corey Lewandowski loose too. Not coincidentally, at the same time the woman-abusing shitbag’s palace coup attempt was coming very close to succeeding and Alberta seems to hint that Corey was not at all wrong about serious graft and waste going on inside the campaign under Wiles and other co-chair Chris LaCivita. Yet the two were able to convince Trump to exile Lewandowski by selling him on more discipline as the path to winning.

• I welcome the data that show Republicans are taking advantage of early voting and vote-by-mail.  First, because we should encourage every American to vote as an ideal but second, because many of these Republicans cast their ballots early because they’re eager to rid their Party of Trump.  I’m more encouraged by the chasm in the women:men ratio, with women outpacing men by 10 percentage points, and in PA, 100,000 new voters have already cast their ballots.

In a win for Dems, the US Supreme Court on Friday tossed a Republican lawsuit seeking to disqualify mail-in ballots missing a “secrecy envelope” or any other picayune bullshit voter errors.

Manly man Cubadian podcaster Ted Cruz, who is also a member of the US Senate (R-Quintana Roo) running for re-election, has spent more than $9,000 on luxury spa treatments since 2016, including more than $1,500 this year, in questionable expenditures, HuffPost reports.

According to FEC filings, Cruz’s campaign paid for nearly $300 in treatments at a spa in New York City while the podcaster was making a bus tour in Texas.  During two sprees in Houston, the campaign spent $1,100 in spa treatments.  Spending campaign money on personal luxuries for the candidate or a family member of the candidate violates FEC regulations.

Meanwhile from the Harris team over the last three months we’ve had like how many anonymous quotations projecting real confidence and assuredness? All this “context” lately and here’s one that matters. Can’t recall EVER hearing the Harris team talk like this. “I recently saw the most disgusting political ad I have ever seen. It was Debbie Mucarsel-Powell’s ad depicting Senator Rick Scott as a very large python. They actually transferred Senator Scott’s image on the head of the snake. Rick Scott has served Florida as governor and now US Senator and is seeking re-election. I don’t know the man but I do know that he has served honorably whether or not you agree with him. He is a father and grandfather and I respect his service. Anyone who makes a decision to publish an ad like that is not deserving of public office. It is a clear representation of their judgement. Can you imagine the impact on his children and grandchildren if they see that ad. There is a limit to sleazy politics – this was way beyond sleazy – this was inhuman and unacceptable. For now the second Halloween in a row, Republicans failed to warn voters about the dangers of malevolent actors giving rainbow fentanyl to trick-or-treaters. For example, a Google search turns up just two articles from a Hawaiian news site saying “while there hasn’t been any cases of fentanyl involved in Halloween candies so far, some parents are concerned that it will just take one.”

“In court documents, the government alleged that from about January 2015 until about March 2021, Branson and others hunted and killed eagles on the Flathead Reservation. Branson then sold the eagles on the black market across the United States and elsewhere. Brandon traveled from Washington to the Flathead Reservation, where he met co-defendant, Simon Paul. Branson and Paul would then shoot, transport and ship bald and golden eagles for future black-market sales. Co-defendant Paul remains a fugitive. The government sought restitution values of $5,000 per eagle and $1,750 per hawk. The government estimated that from 2009 until 2021, Branson made between $180,000 and $360,000 by selling eagles feathers and parts for profit on the black market.”
