The Trump campaign on Friday fired Western Pennsylvania regional field director Luke Meyer, 24, after a Politico reporter exposed his alt-identity of alt-right Neo-Nazi Alberto Barbarossa, co-host of the “Alexandria” podcast with notorious shitbag MAGA activist Richard Spencer, in an apparent acknowledgement that Meyer should’ve been better at hiding his white nationalism.

“I am glad you pieced these little clues together like an antifa Nancy Drew,” Meyer wrote in an email to Politico reporter Amanda Moore. “It made me realize how draining it has been having to conceal my true thoughts for as long as I have.” Moore writes that “When I wrote Pennsylvania’s Trump Force 47 team that Meyer was Barbarossa, my email tracker showed the message being opened all across Pennsylvania and New York,” leading to a response from the Pennsylvania GOP – who she had not directly emailed – saying “The employee in question was background-checked and vetted, but unbeknownst to us was operating separately under a pseudonym. If we’d had any inkling about his hidden and despicable activity he would never have been hired, and the instant we learned of it he was fired. We have no place in our Party or nation for people with such shameful, hateful views.” Lol.

The BBC reports that Mondlane posted a Facebook video announcing he’s fled to South Africa and is still in “mortal danger” after he was forced to sneak out of his home with his wife and daughter, through a hair salon, and out on the street. The South African foreign ministry told the BBC they weren’t even aware the leader of the PODEMOS party was even in the country. From exile Mondlane has urged his fans to continue the general strike against Frelimo and it’s gotten a bit bloody.

A high level Democratic politician who formerly served as Attorney General of California and other important elected offices was spotted Monday by CNN crews knocking on voters’ doors in Pennsylvania. Kamala Harris, widely considered to be a rising star with serious potential for higher office is seen in a still frame posted by Twitter TV news coverage guy Aaron Rupar, formerly of Vox.

One of the more esteemed election predictors of the past few decades, Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball released its final prediction for the 2024 presidential race, giving the White House to Democrat Kamala Harris by a thin margin.  With Harris predicted to win Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and Nevada, Sabato believes Harris will finish with 276 Electoral College votes to Trump’s 262, setting up a fierce battle by Trumpies to overturn a state’s legit results.

In the Senate, Sabato sees the Republicans picking up seats in Ohio, Montana and West Virginia. The House will go Democratic by just one seat, Sabato predicts.

Harris campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon on Monday told reporters that their team expects usable results from Georgia, North Carolina, and Michigan on Tuesday night, with Wisconsin and Pennsylvania coming in earlier during the day on Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Anyway the Tampa Bay Times reports registered Republican voter Bryan Robert Eckley had previously been arrested on an aggravated assault charge on September 26th after getting into an argument with another man – “about politics” according to local police reports – and then showing up again at the man’s front door and pointing a rifle at the man’s face. Eckley then fired a shot into the air during that confrontation, for which he’s awaiting trial.

Three days later Eckley was spotted on surveillance video inside the Hard Rock Tampa Casino planting the two remote controlled explosive devices in the men’s room. An arrest warrant filed in Hillsborough County said the device consisted of a “fireworks receiver with blue wires connecting the receiver to a black plastic firework hand grenade and a small aerial mortar.” The warrant noted that one IED was found near a gas line, and both were placed in a manner that “had they detonated, it posed a risk of serious bodily injury to anyone in the vicinity.” The investigation took a month, but cops tied Eckley to the bombing attempt based on evidence gathered in the gun threat arrest.

It’s not clear yet if there was any connection between the two crimes, though obviously it’d be pretty on-brand for a Florida MAGA voter to try to blow a dude up in a casino over a political argument.

“Today, the RNC sued the Milwaukee Elections Commission for the city’s plan to limit poll watchers in certain precincts on Election Day. RNC Chairman Michael Whatley and Co-Chair Lara Trump stated: ‘Wisconsin voters deserve to know that there are poll watchers from both parties in the room as votes are being cast and counted on Election Day. The RNC has not recruited and trained thousands of volunteers in the Badger State simply to back down from misguided officials who want to prevent a full measure of poll-watching transparency. This lawsuit will compel officials in Milwaukee to ensure robust poll watcher access for the Republican Party.'”

“The Milwaukee Elections Commission announced over the weekend that certain voting precincts may be limited to only one Republican and one Democrat poll watcher on Election Day. They have not disclosed which precincts will be affected, further reducing transparency in the process. There is no way to ensure that an official RNC poll watcher will be allowed to observe the process. Every outside group would also be completely denied the ability to observe. This is a concerning directive and must be reversed immediately,” says a Trump campaign statement, not bothering to explain what the fucking problem is if it’s an even number of “poll watchers” between the two parties.

A 17 year-old boy wearing a Trump middle finger t-shirt punched a 70 year-old female Dem during a pro-Kamala Harris demonstration Stuart, Florida on Saturday, the Palm Beach Post reports.

“Several people pointed out a male who was walking away from the area as someone who battered or struck a woman. I was able to go get the guy, walk him over to the car and detain him,” said Stuart Police Officer Brian Bossio, among several cops who were already present as they’d been hored by organizers. Witnesses said the 17-year-old was walking away from another confrontation with a male Dem when he gut-punched the woman, Kathleen Tomasko, knocking her to the ground.

“I’m standing there and people are moving and this kid just turned around and he punched me. I don’t know where he came from/ He punched me in the gut and knocked me on the ground, and I fell back and hit the ground. Thank goodness the two ladies were behind me so I didn’t hit my head,” Tomasko said. “These four boys were, you know, Trumpers, and it’s a Harris rally. So they were going back and forth and antagonizing people, and our people were antagonizing them, I guess.”

The unnamed juvenile MAGA punk was charged with battery on a person 65 years of age or over.

In fact even adding the quotation marks to that word probably oversells it given that it’s really just a bunch of rando replies and retweets of the announcement, with one guy writing “You’d think the Democrats would have left a bad taste in her mouth by now…” with 7 likes on the tweet.

At least that one got 1,700+ likes. “As Breitbart News’s John Hayward previously reported, Clinton’s law license in Arkansas ended up being ‘suspended for five years,’ and he received a $25,000 fine,” the right wing news site writes, as if “previously reported” means they covered it when it actually happened, and not like a decade before the site was founded and Señor Breitbart himself dropped dead.

Nevada Independent editor Jon Ralston, whose Silver State election outcome predictions are considered gospel, issued his final verdict on Monday based on a rigorous analysis of the outstanding early vote and the return tallies by registration: Vice President Kamala Harris 48.5 percent to convicted felon former President Trump’s 48.2 percent, the rest third party or blank.

Sources on convicted felon former President Trump’s campaign tell the Bulwark the Orange God Emperor knew his Sunday morning rally speech in Lititz, Pennsylvania – in which he said he wouldn’t mind if reporters got shot in another assassination attempt on him, called Iowa pollster Ann Selzer an “enemy,” and overall sounded like he thought he’s going to lose was a disaster and that his aides gently counseled him to try not to act like that again at the other two rallies that day.

“He knew after he got off stage,” said a minion. “There wasn’t a come-to-Jesus talk with Trump. We don’t have those, really. It was just making adjustments on the fly, kind of typical,” said another, despite describing it as kind of all-hands with his top team gathering around him after co-chair Susie Wiles kept trying to make eye contact with Donald while he was rambling endlessly on stage.

“This was as much about pushing back on the media as it was placating the boss. He was infuriated,” said one of the minions, detailing how “Sunday morning sucked” after the triple dickpunch of Vice President Kamala Harris’s Saturday Night Live appearance (which apparently meant creator Lorne Michaels had broken a promise not to have either candidate), the Selzer Iowa poll finding Harris up 47 to 44 in a not-swing state, and the New York Times swing state polls finding leads for Harris sufficient for an Electoral College victory. What’s funny about this sourcing is that none of them even bothered mentioning the Trump +10 Emerson poll that, publicly at least, was supposed to cancel it out, which should tell you how much they actually believed that shit, lol.

The lead story on Politico’s home page is “Trump’s Gains With Pennsylvania Latinos Are Real. Maybe Enough to Withstand ‘Island of Garbage’” complete with a pic of a dingy bodega in some rust belt-y town in the Keystone State, some anecdotal “dispatch” that MAYBE one might be more inclined to take seriously if it was next to a story about the Vice President’s favorite flavor of Doritos instead of what the nation’s other Kamalas think about the personal significance of her candidacy.

The final Marist College/NPR/PBS national survey of 2024 finds Vice President Kamala Harris leading convicted felon former President Trump 51 to 47 percent among likely voters. Harris is +3 in favorability at 50 to 47 percent favorable/unfavorable while Trump is minus-8 at 45 to 53 fav/unfav.

Worth noting is that in the final 2022 national Marist poll, they found the GOP leading Dems 49 to 46 percent in the generic ballot. The result was GOP 50 to Dems 47. Their final 2018 poll found Dems 50 to GOP 40 on the generic ballot. Result was Dems 53.4 to GOP 44.8 percent. In 2016 nationally they found Hillary at 44 percent to Trump 43 percent in the final survey. The result in the popular vote was Hillary 48.2 percent to Trump 46.1 percent. In October 2020 they found Biden leading Trump 54 to 43 percent but everyone fucked up that year. The pattern seems to be that they were more accurate in the years when it felt like there was more uncertainty overall than in 2018 and 2020 when Dem enthusiasm was clearly off the charts. Might just be a good sign this year.
