Video obtained by ProPublica of a Republican National Committee “election integrity specialist” running a poll watcher training session via Zoom last week and published Monday completely undermines a key element of the party’s political messaging. This moron really fucked up.

The major snafu happened when a Pennsylvania poll watcher trainee asked the RNC official, Joe Neild, this question: “How do you know if they are illegal aliens or not, like, when they’re voting, as far as what you were explaining with the ID? And if they’re from another country it was OK as long as they had an ID. How do you know if they’re illegal aliens? How can you stop that?”

Neild’s response: “Well, if they’re illegal aliens, they’re not going to be inside the poll book. Because if they’re illegal aliens, they’re not going to be able to register to vote, because they’ll need a driver’s license number or a Social Security number. And since the recent litigation in the years past, you do have — to be able to get a driver’s license here in Pennsylvania, you have to show proof of citizenship. So that is one way that they will not be able to get a driver’s license. And then you have to be – since they’re illegal, they’re not going to be able to get a Social Security number either.”

White nationalist alcoholic Steve Bannon, newly released from four months of being forced to shower by federal corrections officers, will return to DC’s Willard Hotel on Tuesday night to run a “war room” in the very same venue he ran one on January 6th, 2021, CBS’s Robert Costa reports.

Germany’s Federal Public Prosecutor on Tuesday announced that at least eight members out of a suspected 15 to 20-large Neo-Nazi group, the “Saxon Separatists,” have been cuffed in raids in the eastern state the crew is named for and in Poland, state broadcaster DPA International reports.

“This is a militant group consisting of 15 to 20 people, whose ideology is characterized by racist, anti-Semitic and, in part apocalyptic ideas,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement. Properties in Austria were also being searched by German cops for the rest of the group’s members.

There are several East Coast US House races to watch on Tuesday night to get a read on what the majority – and by extension the presidential race will look like, via Punchbowl News: First off is Virginia’s 7th where Dem former Army Colonel Eugene Vindman – famous for he and his twin brother’s firing from the Trump White House over the first impeachment – and Republican Derrick Anderson – famous for posing with a fake family in a photo on his campaign website.

Then there’s VA-2, where Republican freshman Jen Kiggans faces a tough challenge from Dem Missy Cotter Smasal. The district was also seen as a bellwether in the 2022 midterms.

In other states there’s Ohio’s 9th where Dem Marcy Kaptur will have to hang-on against Republican Derek Merrin and North Carolina’s 1st where Dem Don Davis’s race is also expected to come down to the wire against Republican Laurie Buckhout. Other ones to watch include Maine’s 2nd, Pennsylvania’s 7th and 10th (that piece of shit Scott Perry), and Michigan’s 7th, 8th, and 10th.

Anonymous pro-Trump Twitter influencer @AlphaFox78 admitted to CNN in an interview that Russian propagandist Simeon Boikov paid him $100 to post a now-debunked video purportedly showing a Haitian immigrant claiming he would vote at least twice in Georgia for Vice President Kamala Harris. “I don’t have any idea where it came from or anything – I’m just the guy who shared it,” said @AlphaFox78, a Massachusetts resident who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

“Skyler Philippi, 24, of Columbia, Tennessee, was arrested by federal agents and charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and attempting to destroy an energy facility. Beginning in June 2024, Philippi told a confidential human source (CHS) about his desire to commit a mass shooting at a YMCA facility located in or around Columbia, Tennessee. In July 2024, Philippi told another CHS about the impact of attacking large interstate substations and said that attacking several substations would ‘shock the system,’ causing other substations to malfunction.”

“Philippi researched previous attacks on electric substations and concluded that attacking with firearms would not be sufficient. Philippi, therefore, planned to use a drone with explosives attached to it and to fly the drone into the substation. In September 2024, Philippi drove with undercover employees (UCEs) of the FBI to an electric substation previously researched and targeted by Philippi, and Philippi conducted reconnaissance of the substation. While driving, Philippi ordered a plastic explosive composition known as C-4 and other explosives from the UCEs. Philippi later purchased black powder to be used in pipe bombs, which Philippi intended to use during the attack on the substation. Philippi texted the CHS: ‘if you want to do the most damage as an accelerationist, attack high economic, high tax, political zones in every major metropolis.’ Referring to the substation, Philippi stated, ‘Holy shit. This will go up like a fuckin fourth of July firework.’ Philippi talked about operational security, including the need for disguises, the use of leather gloves (because latex and nitrile gloves can transfer fingerprints), wearing shoes that are too big, the need to burn their clothes after the attack, and not bringing smartphones on the night of the attack.”

The Trump campaign on Friday fired Western Pennsylvania regional field director Luke Meyer, 24, after a Politico reporter exposed his alt-identity of alt-right Neo-Nazi Alberto Barbarossa, co-host of the “Alexandria” podcast with notorious shitbag MAGA activist Richard Spencer, in an apparent acknowledgement that Meyer should’ve been better at hiding his white nationalism.

“I am glad you pieced these little clues together like an antifa Nancy Drew,” Meyer wrote in an email to Politico reporter Amanda Moore. “It made me realize how draining it has been having to conceal my true thoughts for as long as I have.” Moore writes that “When I wrote Pennsylvania’s Trump Force 47 team that Meyer was Barbarossa, my email tracker showed the message being opened all across Pennsylvania and New York,” leading to a response from the Pennsylvania GOP – who she had not directly emailed – saying “The employee in question was background-checked and vetted, but unbeknownst to us was operating separately under a pseudonym. If we’d had any inkling about his hidden and despicable activity he would never have been hired, and the instant we learned of it he was fired. We have no place in our Party or nation for people with such shameful, hateful views.” Lol.

The BBC reports that Mondlane posted a Facebook video announcing he’s fled to South Africa and is still in “mortal danger” after he was forced to sneak out of his home with his wife and daughter, through a hair salon, and out on the street. The South African foreign ministry told the BBC they weren’t even aware the leader of the PODEMOS party was even in the country. From exile Mondlane has urged his fans to continue the general strike against Frelimo and it’s gotten a bit bloody.

A high level Democratic politician who formerly served as Attorney General of California and other important elected offices was spotted Monday by CNN crews knocking on voters’ doors in Pennsylvania. Kamala Harris, widely considered to be a rising star with serious potential for higher office is seen in a still frame posted by Twitter TV news coverage guy Aaron Rupar, formerly of Vox.

One of the more esteemed election predictors of the past few decades, Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball released its final prediction for the 2024 presidential race, giving the White House to Democrat Kamala Harris by a thin margin.  With Harris predicted to win Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and Nevada, Sabato believes Harris will finish with 276 Electoral College votes to Trump’s 262, setting up a fierce battle by Trumpies to overturn a state’s legit results.

In the Senate, Sabato sees the Republicans picking up seats in Ohio, Montana and West Virginia. The House will go Democratic by just one seat, Sabato predicts.

Harris campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon on Monday told reporters that their team expects usable results from Georgia, North Carolina, and Michigan on Tuesday night, with Wisconsin and Pennsylvania coming in earlier during the day on Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Anyway the Tampa Bay Times reports registered Republican voter Bryan Robert Eckley had previously been arrested on an aggravated assault charge on September 26th after getting into an argument with another man – “about politics” according to local police reports – and then showing up again at the man’s front door and pointing a rifle at the man’s face. Eckley then fired a shot into the air during that confrontation, for which he’s awaiting trial.

Three days later Eckley was spotted on surveillance video inside the Hard Rock Tampa Casino planting the two remote controlled explosive devices in the men’s room. An arrest warrant filed in Hillsborough County said the device consisted of a “fireworks receiver with blue wires connecting the receiver to a black plastic firework hand grenade and a small aerial mortar.” The warrant noted that one IED was found near a gas line, and both were placed in a manner that “had they detonated, it posed a risk of serious bodily injury to anyone in the vicinity.” The investigation took a month, but cops tied Eckley to the bombing attempt based on evidence gathered in the gun threat arrest.

It’s not clear yet if there was any connection between the two crimes, though obviously it’d be pretty on-brand for a Florida MAGA voter to try to blow a dude up in a casino over a political argument.

“Today, the RNC sued the Milwaukee Elections Commission for the city’s plan to limit poll watchers in certain precincts on Election Day. RNC Chairman Michael Whatley and Co-Chair Lara Trump stated: ‘Wisconsin voters deserve to know that there are poll watchers from both parties in the room as votes are being cast and counted on Election Day. The RNC has not recruited and trained thousands of volunteers in the Badger State simply to back down from misguided officials who want to prevent a full measure of poll-watching transparency. This lawsuit will compel officials in Milwaukee to ensure robust poll watcher access for the Republican Party.'”

“The Milwaukee Elections Commission announced over the weekend that certain voting precincts may be limited to only one Republican and one Democrat poll watcher on Election Day. They have not disclosed which precincts will be affected, further reducing transparency in the process. There is no way to ensure that an official RNC poll watcher will be allowed to observe the process. Every outside group would also be completely denied the ability to observe. This is a concerning directive and must be reversed immediately,” says a Trump campaign statement, not bothering to explain what the fucking problem is if it’s an even number of “poll watchers” between the two parties.
