Krasner seeks to enjoin the Defendants from continuing with their program. Mr Musk’s efforts come within the context of next week’s presidential election and his support for former President Trump, something the lawsuit focuses on. For example, in addition to claiming the Defendants violated state laws, Krasner emphasizes the need, among other things, to prevent interference with the presidential election and ensure it is ‘free, fair and final…'”

Just trying to stay understated about all this given the stakes involved and the wages of hubris and all that. Thing is that, even all the homerism and motivated reasoning aside, there’s an important contrast here: The Trump team has been saying shit like this every single day for the past almost two years now and then really nine years about how the data and polling etc points toward nothing less than complete and total victory over the enemy (or that MSM pollsters are full of shit).

Meanwhile from the Harris team over the last three months we’ve had like how many anonymous quotations projecting real confidence and assuredness? All this “context” lately and here’s one that matters. Can’t recall EVER hearing the Harris team talk like this. Yeah David Plouffe was pretty cool and cheery on a podcast a few weeks ago but he wasn’t using words like “double-digits.”

“I recently saw the most disgusting political ad I have ever seen. It was Debbie Mucarsel-Powell’s ad depicting Senator Rick Scott as a very large python. They actually transferred Senator Scott’s image on the head of the snake. Rick Scott has served Florida as governor and now US Senator and is seeking re-election. I don’t know the man but I do know that he has served honorably whether or not you agree with him. He is a father and grandfather and I respect his service. Anyone who makes a decision to publish an ad like that is not deserving of public office. It is a clear representation of their judgement. Can you imagine the impact on his children and grandchildren if they see that ad. There is a limit to sleazy politics – this was way beyond sleazy – this was inhuman and unacceptable. If you see it, you cannot vote for the sponsor who put her name on it. Unbelievable! My two cents,” wrote Village of La Reynalda resident Robert Nyce in a letter to the editor at Villages-News.

For now the second Halloween in a row, Republicans failed to warn voters about the dangers of malevolent actors giving rainbow fentanyl to trick-or-treaters. For example, a Google search turns up just two articles from a Hawaiian news site saying “while there hasn’t been any cases of fentanyl involved in Halloween candies so far, some parents are concerned that it will just take one.”

“I don’t allow my kids to open anything without me looking at all their candy because it’s just much more dangerous. And because poisons or fentanyl, things like that, could be injected or placed inside the candy without anybody even noticing,” said Oahu man David Onerheim, who we guess is still on the kick two years after then-RNC chair Ronna Not-Romney made her infamous warning.

The other article quotes a Honolulu Police Department Sergeant saying to inspect the candy because “What we’re seeing right now these days is actually there’s something called the rainbow fentanyl” and then telling parents to “glove up” before they inspect the kids’ candy and Jesus Christ, lol… Anyway the localized coverage is hardly indicative of the national crisis that was primed to explode two years ago and we place the blame squarely on Republicans for not recycling it to portray a vote for Trump as being a vote to protect your kids from rainbow fentanyl five days before election day even if that never made much sense to begin with. They still fucked this up big time.

“In court documents, the government alleged that from about January 2015 until about March 2021, Branson and others hunted and killed eagles on the Flathead Reservation. Branson then sold the eagles on the black market across the United States and elsewhere. Brandon traveled from Washington to the Flathead Reservation, where he met co-defendant, Simon Paul. Branson and Paul would then shoot, transport and ship bald and golden eagles for future black-market sales. Co-defendant Paul remains a fugitive. The government sought restitution values of $5,000 per eagle and $1,750 per hawk. The government estimated that from 2009 until 2021, Branson made between $180,000 and $360,000 by selling eagles feathers and parts for profit on the black market.”

In the whole context of the meltdown over women outvoting men on early/mail-in ballots and the “whether they like it or not” line and the Access Hollywood tape making a comeback on TikTok and the Julia Roberts-narrated ad depicting women secretly voting Harris in defiance of their MAGA husbands… No, this cover does not come across as a flex. Team Murdoch seriously didn’t have anything to go after Harris directly?

White House comms staff altered the transcript of President Joe Biden’s now-MAGA-infamous “garbage” comment to add the apostrophe over the objections of the career stenographers, the AP reports on what will be seen as a “win” for Elise Stefanik and the other House GOP dipshits who opened an investigation into the transcript of the Tuesday night Zoom call with Voto Latino.

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters – his – his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American,” said the original version, with the apostrophe added to “supporters” to change it from plural to possessive, thereby “altering” the meaning.

First off, when you actually look at it “in context” like that, there’s an extremely strong argument that Biden did in fact mean it in the possessive sense, that the “his” shifted from Trump to asshole “comedian” Tony Hinchcliffe, as in “[Hinchcliffe’s] demonization of Latinos is unconscionable.” This isn’t political staff altering public record so much as favoring their side of a very, very close call.

Second off, L-O-fucking-L that this is the “major scandal” of the final days of this election, that both the House GOP were “right” that something was fishy and it’s now on them to try to make this matter AND, more importantly, tie it to Vice President Kamala Harris. Best of luck to them on that.

A new set of Marist College/NPR/PBS News swing state surveys finds Vice President Kamala Harris leading convicted felon former President Trump 51 to 48 percent in Michigan and 50 to 48 percent in both Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. On favorability Harris is net +1 percent in Michigan to Trump’s net negative 10 percent, in Pennsylvania Harris is net 0 to Trump negative 4 percent, while in Wisconsin they’re dead even at negative 5 percent each. That last -5 for Harris sounds a little outlier-ish.
