Fulton County, Georgia Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney – a name some might recognize from the litigation over the grand jury investigation into fat former President Trump and his co-conspirators for their post-2020 election coup attempt in the state before it passed to Judge Scott McAfee – on Monday ruled in favor of the Sistersong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective et al and found the state’s six-week abortion ban, enacted in 2022, to be unconstitutional.

Of course the state’s going to appeal this and of course the state Supreme Court is (probably) going to rule in Governor Brian Kemp’s favor in the end but the ruling probably comes at an inopportune time for Republicans, especially considering the ban is exactly what killed Amber Thurman in 2022.

A 61 year-old Farmington Hills, Michigan man faces charges of felony ethnic intimidation and misdemeanor assault/battery after a confrontation last week with a Black female US Postal Service carrier over mailers from Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign, the Detroit Free Press reports.

The man, Russel Valleau, screamed at the carrier, telling her he “did not want that ‘Black bitch’ in his mailbox,” before repeating the same insult directed at the carrier and threatening her. She then pepper sprayed the likely Breitbart commenter in the face. Police responded and took Valleau into custody. “In this highly charged political moment, everyone has a right to their political opinion and vote,” Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said Friday. “Whatever our political beliefs, no one should be assaulted or threatened because of their race, or for doing their job.”

Valleau faces up to 27 months in prison and $5,500 in fines for defending white America.

Convicted felon former President Trump is on the ground at a furniture store called “Chez What” in Valdosta, Georgia where he’s going to politically capitalize on at least 119 Americans killed by Hurricane Helene across several states, with neighboring North Carolina hit particularly hard.

“The order authorizes federal observers to monitor election day activities in these census areas. The department is also sending its staff to monitor compliance in Bethel Census Area, Northwest Arctic Borough and North Slope Borough, Alaska. The department regularly deploys its staff to monitor for compliance with federal civil rights laws in elections in communities across the country. In addition, the department also deploys federal observers from the Office of Personnel Management, when authorized by federal court order,” the statement continued and it sure kind of sounds like they’re stretching the monitoring muscles before E-Day by deploying to rural Alaska for some local races.

Republican Springfield, Ohio businessman Jamie McGregor, owner of McGregor Sheet Metal, tells the New York Times he’s had to buy his 14 year-old daughter a Glock over death threats he got for publicly praising his roughly 33 Haitian migrant employees as hard, dependable workers this month.

“They come to work every day. They don’t cause drama. They’re on time,” McGregor told the Times in an interview earlier this month. Then on PBS News Hour the next week, he noted that they were drug-free. “I wish I had 30 more.” Now his wife Cameron says “We’re being hunted like animals.”

Congress’s top four – Senator Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and their respective Minority Leader counterparts Mitch McConnell and Hakeem Jeffries – were asked by Punchbowl News how they see November playing out for the teams, and what their strengths and weaknesses are. All of the the strengths were anodyne – McConnell says its the map, Schumer and Johnson say their candidates are solid, Jeffries says it’s House GOP dysfunction – and three of the weaknesses were predictable – McConnell says “candidate quality,” Jeffries and Schumer say the GOP’s lies distorting the Biden Administration’s and Congressional Dems’ record of accomplishment.

Johnson also cited “lies” as a weakness for his side but didn’t sound quite as, uh, reality-based as the two Democratic leaders. “I would say the level of misinformation that’s out there. I feel like the entire establishment media, mainstream media, obviously, is against us and our candidates. Kamala Harris gets an in-kind donation on prime time on almost every channel, every single night. And they’re constantly criticizing our nominee for president and elevating her and so that has an effect on people who are not fully informed,” Johnson said, as if there isn’t one person in particular who could maybe be to blame for the media portraying him as a criminally insane fascist sociopath.

As for the “actors” part, the Langes a few years ago were involved in producing, Hayride to Hell, a low-budget horror film starring Kane Hodder, who played Jason in four of the original Friday the 13th movies, and Bill Moseley, who was in one of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films. The Langes had “very small, non-speaking roles as monsters,” in the low-budget slasher made to promote their farm’s autumnal offerings.

Audio of a conference call earlier this month between Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, and Attorney General Kris Mayes obtained by the Washington Post reveals the the three agonizing over what to do after they had found out that circa 98,000 voters in the state had been registered to vote for decades, even though there was no record they had ever provided proof of citizenship as is required under state law – a situation that they were most certainly going to be damned on either way given how it was perfectly formulated to fuel MAGA conspiracy freaks.

The origin of the problem goes back to 2004, when the state passed the proof of citizenship law, leading to nine years of litigation ending with the Supreme Court ruling in 2013 that federal law prevented the state from enforcing it for presidential and congressional elections. The state then implemented a hybrid system where those who had not provided proof were given federal-only ballots that left off local and state races. What happened this month is that the Secretary of State’s office had found that the 98,000 had been erroneously been provided full ballots after 2004. Even better is that federal law prohibits states from making any changes to voter rolls under 90 days before election day, leaving Hobbes, Mayes, and Fontes with a perfect storm of shit.

Republican Springfield, Ohio Mayor Rob Rue, who had been planning a conference call earlier this month with Mike Pence replacement and Rue’s actual currently sitting Senator JD Vance – a plan that collapsed when city officials found out that Vance had planned on letting a bunch of local MAGA conspiracy theorists join – tells Politico that he still has yet to hear from Jaydee since at all since the couchfucker started propagating lies about the city’s Haitian community eating cats.

“We didn’t trust what that would look like because we were concerned those being brought on may not even be our constituents. It would not have been productive,” Rue said, adding his family’s been getting threats and that someone dropped off a confused Haitian migrant at his house last weekend.

Not about the threats or a Haitian migrant getting dropped off at his home, but about not having heard from Vance – or convicted felon former President Trump. Disgraced former New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo is the New York City Jewish community’s top pick for replacing indicted Mayor Eric Adams, according to “multiple Jewish community activists” who tell Jewish Insider that Cuomo is “emerging as the favored alternative candidate among Jewish leaders, citing his moderate to conservative record on key issues and outspoken support of Israel, which he has made a central focus of his messaging in recent months.”

Fox News contributor/former Axios editor-turned Jewish Insider politics editor Josh Kraushaar, a complete douchebag, sells this as a “Big SCOOP” in a tweet. The article does mention the whole resigned in disgrace over multiple sexual harassment allegations thing, noting that Cuomo “will need to overcome the stigma of sexual misconduct allegations that he denies but that forced him to resign in 2021, he will also face lingering resentment from Orthodox voters over his restrictions targeting the community during the COVID pandemic, which were criticized as discriminatory.”

A review by the Wall Street Journal finds that, excluding Alaska, of the 1,986 counties/Louisiana parishes in the other 49 states in which Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment insurance, food stamps, the earned income tax credit, veterans benefits, Pell grants, Covid-era payments, and other support account for 25 percent or more of the total personal income, 1,746 of these counties voted for convicted felon former President Trump in the 2020 election to just 240 for Joe Biden. This was up from 2016 when 169 such counties voted for Hillary to 1,276 for Trump.

Yet we urge Americans to contrast Ms Harris’s record with her opponent’s,” before finally getting to “There is also an optimistic case for elevating her, one that is rooted in her policies and borne out by her experience as vice president, a senator and a state attorney general” in the eighth paragraph of their subscriber retention piece.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has retained a semi-obscure MAGA lawyer named Bill Burck to lead his defense team as he faces five major federal felonies. Burck’s greatest hits include helping former Trump White House Chief of Staff Reince Preibus, Trump White House Counsel Don McGahn, and Trump White House Smelly Alcoholic Nazi Steve Bannon squirm out of being interviewed during Robert Mueller’s investigation. In 2021 Business Insider reported that Burck had the balls to demand the DOJ reimburse the fees Bannon owed him for the repeated interviews with Mueller’s team.

Burck would not be the first of Team Trump’s former defense lawyers to freelance for a Dem facing federal charges as in 2022 First Son and irresponsible crackhead-turned-painter Hunter Biden retained Abbe Lowell, who had previously represented the far more successful presidential influence peddler Jared Kushner. Then again Lowell had also repped former President Bill Clinton, and former Senators John Edwards and Bob Menendez (the 2015 trial when Bob walked), so you might actually say his Kushner work was more the exception than the rule as far as Lowell’s clientele goes.
